When capturing the awesome memories of color events like the Color Me United 5K, whether you choose to take photographs with a camera or their smart phone, it's important to protect your electronics. Tiny particles of color powder are sneaky and can damage electronics when they find their way inside.
To keep your camera or smart phone safe, use plastic wrap or even Zip-lock baggies. This helps keep dust out and in most cases doesn't affect the quality of photos taken. Alternatively, waterproof cases may provide protection from dust as well.
If you do happen to get powder on any electronic devices during the run, try using a compressed air product to remove any dust in the charging port, headphone jack, speakers, or other openings.
